CHAPTER 8

  Next morning as Kate wake up, she check her phone but there was no text or missed call which make Kate upset.

  She also checks her email but there was no new email.

  “Why he didn't call me?” Kate thought while driving her car which was a present from her uncle on her 18th Birthday.

  She reached school, she look for Jake but couldn't find him.

  When they were in class together Kate look at Jake he behaves normal, but he didn't look at her.

  She also doesn’t want him to notice that she want apologize for last night. After recess again Jake was lost and Kate couldn't find him.

  It’s been two days Jake was not talking to her.

  Kate feel that maybe she was hard on him and he took it to his heart so she asked about him with other class mate and find that he's in ball court with Claire one of the cheer leader and junior.

  She saw them pretty close, for a moment she thought that she can come again but then think Jake's going to lost again so she call his name.

  Jake get attention then he came downstairs out of the court and said “yeah... Ki what's up??” she look him, he pretend that nothing happen.

  “Where are you Jake... you didn't call so I got worried” Kate said simply, before Jake said something Claire came and said

  “Bye Jake” then kissed him.”

  Since when you and blonde become a couple” Kate said folding her arm.

  “Since I got into a club” Jake said then realizes he shouldn't say it.

  “Club...what club and you are telling me now?” Kate asked curiously

  “Basketball club ...you know city clubs...I got a friend in there, he got me in” Jake said trying to cover his lie.

  Kate stare him a second but then said

  “Congrats Jake...why didn't you tell me...well I'm so proud of you. Do you make new friend, did you ask Doc about going out of city...tell me everything” Kate asked stubbornly and hug him.

  But deep down she was sad because Jake is not going to be around anymore, but she didn't show it because she don't want to upset him.

  Jake thinks that his lies works he smile and tell her everything which is all lies.

  After joining the club, Kate barely see Jake, Kate stop getting his call or text messages.

  Final papers start and Kate have to stay Jake's home for giving him notes and sometimes she have to give them to Mariana because Jake return home late night.

  One day she was waiting for him, Dr. Drew notice her curiosity. Kate stand there she was upset Dr. Drew notices that too. So he took notes from her and tells her to go home. When Jake came he took the notes and said he's so tired and he's going to sleep.

  Paper are about to end. Kate can only see him in class room even they live across each other she can't meet him.

  Economics paper coming which is common major of their and she know Jake will call her for tuition.

  Dr. Drew call her one day, she was waiting for him in his office.

  She saw Tyler's dad leaving his office she greet him. He greet her back and smile then leave

  “Come in Kate” Dr. Drew said

  “What's up Doc... you call me... am I get lucky” Kate said smiling she really like him and jokes him about getting herself a date.

  Dr. Drew laughs and said “of course not Kate ...but I need to talk to you about Jake”

  Dr. Drew get in serious tune Kate get serious too.

  “Kate you are a lovely girl. I know from past few weeks you been worried about Jake. Because he got busy in his life so much that he can't give you any time now. It’s time for you to move on make any other friend. Like Jake has new friends, he came home late night and honestly he's really happy these days”

  Kate was staring him, Kate notice that too Jake is extraordinary happy and forget about her.

  Kate takes a deep breath then said

  “You know Doc I never lied to you about anything. Grandpa told me before he died that I always found you when I am in trouble and I had. But now the truth is I don't have any friend all these years it was only Jake that understand my nature... be there for me. Alice and Tracy are best friends. And I can’t make someone my friend; I have very bad luck in finding friend. If I go out with Alice she think that now Jake is gone so I need her and when she want me to talk to Jake about her ,what I say to her that he don't like you... I mean Jake is a stupid ...she cute, smart and funny what else you want in some one and Tracy hate me because she likes Ty...”

  “She likes Tyler and you insult him and he's gone” Dr. Drew completes her sentence.

  “Well you have someone else in your life too...you know Paul ... how is it going between you two?” Dr. Drew said drinking his coffee.

  “Paul is very nice guy and he's very caring too... but Doc I don't know. I'm confused in this matter” Kate said she sweep her hand in her hair to put them behind her ear.

  “About what” Dr. Drew asked.

  “Doc you're cardiologist ...not a psychiatrist OK...” Kate said.

  “Yes...but I know your psychic better than you and right now you need to discuss that” .Kate look at him then her mug.

  She makes Circles with her finger around the cup then said

  “I don't want any relationship right now...Paul is nice and I can't break his heart. But also I don't want this all mess too, I plan every day to meet him but then make a lame excuse too him... because I...”

  “You still love Tyler you know… you can go to him... if you want he can be yours... and that make you happy and satisfy. He is very nice guy and he likes you too, YOU HAVE TOO MOVE ON KATE. Daniel told me that he want to come back but can't...because he don't want you hate him...that is love Kate, I advise you to move to Boston with him Kate. We all need someone in our lives Kate, someone who love us more than anything” Dr. Drew said trying to convince her.

  Kate has a sudden thought “how can he forget Jake is his son... Tyler humiliate him in front of whole school and”

  “What are you thinking Kate” Dr. Drew asked as he sees her in lost in thought.

  “Nothing Doc ... now I just realize Tyler was the reason I lose my best friend. He was the one who humiliate him in front of the whole school. That why Jake is now so aggressive. I never forgive him Doc and never give him a chance to laugh at me. Oh...well but you are right I should move on...I will Doc. I will call Paul tonight” she said and smile.

  Dr. Drew smiles back. Kate feels something new about Dr. Drew today. She forgets about that because now she have bigger problem.

  She’s still confused about relationship but she have to get over that Jake's not going to be around and move on.
