CHAPTER 7

  Kate studying in her room, Maria her house maid knock on the door, she been taking care of house since her grandpa was alive

  “Come in” Kate said

  “I am going to market do you want something” Maria asked “no thanks” Kate said. Maria left.

  Kate have to safe notes for Jake she start to finding her USB ,when she open left drawer of her study table to find it, a box fell from it. She grabs it.

  It was a necklace Tyler gives her on prom night. She sat there backing the table staring it, she start thinking about Tyler

  “It’s been a year he didn’t call or text, did he forget me” then she throw the box away thinking

  “At least a person email asking about college... why I am thinking about that jerk anyway, why do I care about him”?

  Kate was lost in thought suddenly she heard her name it was Jake. She suddenly grabs the box and hides it.

  She don’t want to show Jake that she still remembering Tyler.

  “Ki” Jake calls her name and enters her room.

  “What is it Jake why are yelling your assignment is not done yet” Kate said setting her notes in order.

  “Great then complete it, I’ll take it tomorrow...now where your party clothes are” Jake asked as he moved toward her closet.

  He takes out jeans and sleeveless orange top and coat. She wears those at his birthday party,

  “What are you doing Jake and why are you dress up like rock concert singer “Kate asked as she stare him

  “What? Do I look good” Jake asked with curiosity.

  “Well yes, that's why I asked you” Kate said, folding her arms.

  “Great then get ready now” Jake said giving Kate clothes push her toward bathroom Kate push him then asked

  “Why where are we going” Jake put his hands on her shoulders take a deep breath than said

  “Do you trust me Ki” Kate saw him raise her one eyebrow than said “the club...really Jake!! You are too fast… I just say yes to you in morning”

  “Man how do you know that” Jake asked sitting on her bed “because every time you say any dialogue I know you did something go-fee” Kate said going in bathroom.

  ...

  “Jake ...I'm not feeling good about this ...it’s not a good idea... let’s go back” Kate said as they reached at the club.

  She look around so many girl and boys going inside of the club, bikes, girls with short skirt laughing, she heard about these clubs and she never like to come here.

  As she was staring them she get shocked when she see Jake take off his stripe black jacket he was wearing black tank and jeans ..

  Which make Kate more suspicious about why Jake wants to come here so desperately?

  “Ki take off your jacket...” Jake said

  Kate looked him then says

  “What... what did you say?”

  “Take it off Ki... don't you see girl in these clubs show their skin, c’mon” Jake said

  “No I won't” Kate said and folds her arms.

  Jake forcefully takes her jacket off.

  Then he enters in the club Kate follow him while cursing him.

  As they enter in the club, the music was so loud, Kate never heard that kind of songs, and she saw disco lights shine every corner.

  Tables were set at one corner on the floor peoples were dancing, there was not much light.

  It’s really hard for her to watch where they going. They moved toward a couch.

  “OK... so I'll go and get us drink, you enjoy the music and dance” Jake said looking around like he's finding someone as he move Kate hold his hand and said

  “I can't dance Jake, where are you going, I don't need a drink. I'm here because of you, so stick with me”

  “Ki...grow up, look around there is so many guys and they are much better than Paul, go talk to them” Jake said

  Kate leave his hand like he's a stranger and look other way, Jake didn't notice her action and leave. He was in hurry to meet someone and Kate notices this from his action.

  Kate feels Jake is here for something, he's not here just for fun. She thought about follow him but Jake was in hurry and she lost him. Kate saw everywhere but she didn't find him.

  She notice some of guys are staring her, she feel weird so she look other way and calling Jake name in heart.

  One of those guys who looks in his late 20, came near to Kate and said “Hey...you are new here”

  “Yeah...my friend and I came together” Kate said she was scared the way he's looking at her.

  “Really… So where are your friend?” that guy asked, in suspicious way.

  “Getting us drinks” Kate said she don't want him to know that she's scared.

  That guy offers a drink and she refused.

  She make him excuse saying “let me check on my friend... he text me...excuse me”

  She run upstairs then turn right, there was silent in there. She got more scared when she saw them coming upstairs.

  “Well... let us help you find your friend what says... baby!!!” that guy said as his friend move toward .She saw on one there.

  She thought “AM I LOST ...WHERE IS EVERYBODY ... GOD WHAT DO I DO...WHERE IS JAKE??” She's calling Jake name out loud but she can't see him.

  There were three guys, all in their late twenties.

  She runs as they tried to grab her. She enter a room which is glass covered. They surround her. She saw in that guy eyes,

  He can feel there is change in her expression. It changes from scared to angry as she said “you don't know who you're mess with...”

  Before she completes her sentence she saw Jake on upper floor with someone and calls his name with full power.

  “JAKE DREW” Jake get attention he looks around and saw some guy abusing Kate, and she's crying.

  He yells her name and run down stair.

  Those guys where much stronger than Jake but Jake didn't care and hit the first guy. The other two grab him so tight he tried to lose him but failed, they push him on ground and club security gets them.

  Jake nose bleed because of the punch he get from them.

  They were in town; they don't talk the whole way.

  Kate was thinking all the way “why Jake chooses that club? He was with someone but whom? If I ask he never says...maybe it’s my imagination ...maybe he just wondering around to get someone attention ... Or maybe asking about something ...yeah maybe”

  Jake was scared to talk her about that incident but when he notice she not that upset, he put all his strength together to say “I am sorry Ki I got busy in something and completely forget ...”

  “About me” Kate interrupts him then said

  “Who are you talking to Jake that makes you forget me?”

  “No one Ki...”Jake lied to her

  “I saw someone Jake DON'T LIE” Kate said her voice get loud

  “Easy Ki it was just a bartender ...and please these kind of stuff happen in those places...you need to be strong” Jake said try to cover his lies.

  Kate looks him then yells “stop the car”.

  Her house was little far away but she got off the car and said

  “Jake Drew… I am bored person who love her life, love her home and want to live this life in normal way. I saw my parents, grandparents living like this and I'm so happy in this way. I love my life and as far as I know your family they live a normal life too. These clubs, fight, adventures and all those kind of stuff, don't make you cool. It make alone because world don't like this. I always thought you like my nature and my style. I thought I was good friend to you. But thank you after 6 years of friendship Jake...you realize me that I'm so boring for you... And the way I live is not cool ...thank you so much Jake”

  “Ki...that's n” Jake try to say but Kate interrupt.

  “Forget it Jake I understand everything ...maybe it’s time you find some person of your interest. Maybe some better than me, who is more fun than I am” Kate said while cry
ing and then run home.

  She enter her home, she knew that Jake learned his lesson and going to call her any time and never go any place like that again. He never does that thing again, if Kate says no to it.

  She put her cell phone on her side table. They have been friend for 6 years and not for a day Jake can stay without talking to her.

  She change and then check her email, her dad emailed her.

  She didn't know where he live and she never asked about him to her grandpa but her grandpa said he loves her and he emails her once in a month.

  It was her dad that insists her through email to go that club.

  She emails him back about her experience in the club and tells him about her fight with Jake. As waiting for Jake's call Kate fall asleep.
