CHAPTER 6

  “Kate... Kate...Kate” Alice call her as she saw her lost in thought.

  “Um...yes” Kate replied as she wake from a dream

  “Where are you” Alice asked, “Nowhere...? C’mon lets go” Kate said as they get out of the class. Kate was worried about Jake's behavior.

  He’s been acting weird these days, last week she notice him texting someone for about two hours and when she asked him he said “no one”

  It never happen, before that Jake lies to Kate about something but there is something going on that Jake was hiding from her.

  Kate was lost in thought Alice again call her name then asked, “What’s going on?” Kate nod in negative

  “Do you know where Jake is?” Kate asked Alice as she closed her locker.

  “No I don’t... But I think he went for gym” Alice said locking her locker.

  They see crowd in school ground, Kate make her ways to see what happen. She was shocked when she sees it was Jake hitting Ryan Seward basketball captain of their school.

  Jake was on top of Ryan hitting him, Kate yell his name to stop him, Jake saw her and stop then realize that everyone was staring him, as he was not in his senses. He saw Kate’s eyes frightened and then she leaves.

  She reached at gnome. When Jake reached there, he started to apologize to her

  “Ki I’m sorry ...so sorry ...it just happens to me and I don't know why I can't control myself” Jake except her to say something. She is looking the sky.

  “Say something Ki... please” Jake insists as he sees she is not looking at him. “Can you do push-up?” she asked him without looking

  “Yeah...so” Jake said. “Then do it here. And whatever I do don't stop” Kate said still not looking at him.

  Jake look around no one was there and then Jake start push-up at second push up Kate put a heavy stone on him.

  He still doing it then Kate put another one, which was heavier than first one. Jake can't keep up and fall.

  “You see Jake eagerness is like these heavy stones when you do something in your rage, you feel guilty and that guilt is heavier than these stone. That guilt kill you...do you want that” Kate said as they sat backing the tree.

  Jake look at her then says

  “He says about Sophie and...And I just remember my humiliation in front of many people ...I can't control that, I remember th...”

  “Control... YOU ARE NOT A BEAST JAKE!!... You are a human, beast are out of control. They don’t think but humans do and I never saw your dad go violent or Max have brawl with someone, then why you Jake. My friend, who helps everyone...care about everyone, can’t beat someone like that and for the record Sophie is Ryan girlfriend, you don't have to think about her ...I don't understand this change in you, I feel like there is something going in you. Because my best friend never hurts anyone” she stops for a moment then holds his hand and continues

  “Listen, Jake one day you will find someone who love you more than anything... And you will know that and with that person you find your peace”

  “Ki... These things happens in life ...it’s not like that, life is always be normal and boring, it have unusual things too...OK and people change with time.” Jake said

  Kate looks at the ground then at him and says “don’t say that... Don’t challenge life to give you some adventure or stuff like that... If it chose a path for you, you won’t change it even if you want too... You’ll never be the same one... It makes you do thing you don’t want to ,it takes away the people you love and you can’t do anything about it...trust me and people change but their nature didn’t…it remains the same”

  Jake looks at her and says “where did you get that stuff ... movie... right?”

  Kate stable herself then says “of course, movies are new books ...some movies are true story and they teach you so many things about life”

  Jake didn't answer her and start walking,

  Kate realize and they headed to their street in the way Kate had a thought

  “I thought about the club you want to go and ...well we always have to try new things that's what Doc says right” Kate said.

  Jake stop then look her “you’re serious Ki” Jake asks in serious mood “Dah...Jake why I joke to you on this” Kate said.

  Jake shout in excitement then hug her saying “I love you... I love you... I love you so much Kate. Thank you so much I know you will never say no to me”

  “Get off Jake... love you too, but just make sure the club is safe and you know what I mean. I don't want to get in trouble OK!” Kate said smiling and pushing Jake away.

  “Of course you don't have to worry about that” Jake said.
